Who We Are
As the first Muslim American owned Roasted Barley Flour company, I started this business with a dedication to Share a "Sunnah", a practice of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. The joy I get from sharing this amazing food, and hearing the posititve feedback from customers has increased my desire to share this information worldwide.
Since the late 1980's my family has been making, sharing and selling Saweeq Roasted Barley Flour with our friends, family and neighbors. To me Saweeq Roasted Barley Flour is more than just a business - it's a labor of love.
My father was introduced to Saweeq by a Sufi Shaikh, who is also a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. My father learned this ancient recipe and bought it home where it became an instant family favorite. 30 years later I can still smell the barley grains roasting in our kitchen and hear the metal hand mill my father used to grind it into flour.
While these memories hold nostalgia for me, my passion for sharing Saweeq actually increased when I begam to research its nutritional benefits and practical connection to the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.
This is a journey that I have been on since making my first batch of Saweeq at age 7. I've spent years honing the recipe, so I can offer the best taste and quality to customers. I look forward to having organic fresh roasted barley flour available nationwide this Summer 2026.
Stay updated with the journey on Social Media.

Every spoonful of Saweeq delivers vitamins and minerals which contribute to whole body wellness.
